Monday

Young Leaders Programme -

Our young leaders programme takes place on a Monday night @ The Avenue, Avon Avenue, Meadowell, North Shields.

It gives young people the opportunity to gain accreditation towards their Bronze Level Duke of Edingburgh Awards and apply for a Level1 FA Coaching Qualification, to enable them to get their foot on the coaching ladder. We offer young people the choice of finding volunteer placements in a placement of their choice or working with our youth provision team on their sessions.

Attendes learn about the qualities need to be young leaders, eticit when delivering sessions and their roles and responsibilities. We also encourage our young leaders to apply for funding for projects they would like to try out giving them ownership of their projects and encouraging them to be actively involved in future programme delivery.

Many other opportunities are available on this programme through both Street Games and Northumberland Clubs for Young People.

Wednesday

Collingwood Ward Outreach -

Our youth provision team will be going out into Collingwood ward on a Wednesday night.

Through the use of our mobile unit the “Boyza Bus” and activities this short project will be used as a pilot to engage and develop relationships with socially marginalised young people who often miss out on mainstream opportunities. The project will centre on the areas of Moor Park, Chriton, New York and Billy Mill. Our team are always available so any young people from these areas can talk to responsible adults about issues affecting their lives.

We hope to expand on this project in the near future developing diversionary activities within this area and encouraging the local young people to access  positive activities and opportunities within in a supportive and culturally familiar environment.
