Northumberland Clubs for Young People There are two places for the forthcoming Street Games Young Volunteer Residential in the Lake District. Street Games Manchester

On Friday the 30th Wallsend Boys Club in partnership with North Tyneside Sports Development took down a group of 20 young people down to the National Street Games Festival in Manchester. Despite the three hour trip the teams played well and included one 5-a-side team and two dodge ball teams. The 5-a-side was tough with a total of 19 teams playing and our team had never played together until that day, they played well but unfortunately were not placed. Summer Sand Blast Event

Northumberland Clubs for Young People (NCYP) ran a FREE Summer Sand Blast Event @ Tynemouth Longsands Beach. The event took place on Saturday 24th August 2013, 10:30am -3:30pm aimed at young people 11yrs -19yrs. Activities on offered ranged from Surfing, Paddle Boarding, Surf Kayaking, Rugby 4’s, Brazilian Beach Football, Beach Cricket, Beach Volleyball, Beach Dodge ball, to Old Sports day Games and a Sandcastle Competition. A couple of our young volunteers went along to help and support the event and did a fine job of being a mascot for the day!

Asda Fun Day

On 23rd August we ran our second Fun Family Fundraiser Event at ASDA Benton to raise awareness for the Club and our Youth Provision. Some of our Young volunteers came along to help run some of the activities and entertain the kids. These Fun Activities included Hook the Duck Football Top Score Face Painting, (which was very popular with the younger kids) Nail Art Tattoos Competitions included Raffle Tombola Guess the name of the Teddy How many Sweets are in the Jar The tombola was by far the most popular event with over 130 prizes being won! Clay Pigeon Shoot

On the 14th August 2013 two of our young people took part in the Northumberland Clubs For Young People (NCYP) Annual Clay Pigeon Shoot. Representing the Boys club were Jack Boundey and Callum Webster who were taken up to Felton, Morpeth to compete against 12 other youth clubs from Northumberland and Tyne and Wear. The day consisted of a morning practice of 3 different traps simulating live prey, The Rabbit, Crossing Pigeon and Floppy Crow, each flying clays into the air at different angles.
