Clay Pigeon Shoot

On the 14th August 2013 two of our young people took part in the Northumberland Clubs For Young People (NCYP) Annual Clay Pigeon Shoot. Representing the Boys club were Jack Boundey and Callum Webster who were taken up to Felton, Morpeth to compete against 12 other youth clubs from Northumberland and Tyne and Wear. The day consisted of a morning practice of 3 different traps simulating live prey, The Rabbit, Crossing Pigeon and Floppy Crow, each flying clays into the air at different angles. ASDA Fund Raising Event

ASDA Fund Raising Event 13thJuly We ran the event being placed within the entrance of ASDA, our tombola was a complete success, selling out completely! Other competitions included; how many sweets are in the tub and guess the name of the teddy. The big teddy prize for” Guess the Name of the Teddy” was won by a local young girl, who was thrilled when the bus turned up at her house to deliver it for her. Wallsend Festival Saturday 6th July The festival went extremely well, and was extremely busy and the “Boyza Bus” was situated on the main street in the middle of all the action and put up a display showing the different activities on offer.The Boys Club gained a lot of attention from local residents asking about the youth provision, looking around the “Boyza Bus” and enquiring about the football section and getting to know the staff. Our Wish Sport Campaign

Wallsend Boys Club’s Youth Provision – Sports Equipment Appeal The £30,000 Wish Sport cash pot will be divided up by the number of tokens collected by each organisation – the bigger our share of tokens we can collect, the larger amount of money we will receive to spend on sports equipment for our youth provision. Calling anyone 14-17yrs who is missing the Boys Club – this is your chance to do something about it and gain a qualification while you do it! The award-winning Volunteer It Yourself (VIY) project, funded by The Big Lottery Fund, offers you the chance to get repairs on your youth club whilst young people learn skills on the job. Police Participatory Cup

On Friday the 15th of March Wallsend Boys Club Youth Provision held a football tournament at the Lucozade Powerleague in North Shields. The friendly tournament was made up of a team from Northumbria Police, Young people who are regular attendees at our Friday night sessions and a new team comprised of attendees of the Avon Avenue Youth Centre. Wallsend Boys’ Club has over the years produced more than 70 top class footballers, including Peter Beardsley, Alan Shearer and Michael Carrick, since it was founded in 1904. We will Rebuild

We used that strap-line (We Will Rebuild) 5 years ago on our 2007 Dinner Programme after we (Wallsend Boys’ Club) had been granted the funding to develop our own pitches and changing rooms at Bigges Main. Early Wednesday morning we were greeted by our four eager participants who had never tried this activity before and were both excited and keen to get their shooting experience underway.
